– Incluir Tangara preciosa (Cabanis, 1850) na lista principal de aves brasileiras, inserindo-a imediatamente após Tangara peruviana (Desmarest, 1806).Justificativa
– Tangara preciosa tem sido tratada como espécie distinta de T. peruviana na maioria das obras referenciais dos anos 1990 (contra Sick 1997). Em anos recentes, as razões para se considerar T. peruviana uma espécie polimórfica foram divulgadas por Sick (1985), embora o uso deste tratamento já esteja implícito em Sick et al. (1981). O tratamento de Sick trouxe novamente a lume uma antiga suposição originalmente aventada por Hellmayr (1936:157).Citações selecionadas:
